Derek Lam is set to open his first retail store of Derek Lam 10 Crosby. The brand was designed as an addition to Lam’s more expensive main line of Manhattan flagship clothing at 764 Madison Avenue. Lam’s initial “lower end” line was first launched in 2011 to offer customers the same luxury pieces, while still allowing them to be accessible to the mainstream public.
Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, who is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Derek Lam, said “Stemming from the success of the line with our wholesale partners in the U.S., we felt that now was the appropriate time to further extend the reach of 10 Crosby Derek Lam in a location that fits both the customer and the brand.” The new located is used in order to help the brand reach a wider spectrum of buyers, in a “downtown-inspired” collection.
Set to have it’s new opening in October of 2014, the new 10 Crosby will have women’s ready-to-wear as well as accessories collections, all on a 2,200 square foot floor space. It will be located on 115 Mercer Street in New York, in the Soho shopping district, along with other hot labels, such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Zadig & Voltaire, Versace, Rag & Bone, A.P.C., and Vera Wang.
