Diane Von Furstenberg talks about her life, her career, her upcoming book and series of documentaries that empowers women. In her 5th year of honoring women leaders, she discusses [on Bloomberg TV] how truth and character matter most. She talks about the importance of  empowering and supporting female leadership. “We honor these women who not only had the courage to survive whatever misery they were in, but the power to inspire and the leadership to help others”.  She stated.  Furstenberg discussed why it is important for her to empower these women including:  Gloria Steinem, Alicia Keys, but also women who are in the grassroots. “We are honoring two women, one is Israeli, another is Palestinian, and they work together in Israel”.  She added.

When asked what if being a fighter and a determined survivor was the key to success, she says ” What matters is the truth. To believe in the truth. We are fighting for the truth.  Being true to yourself. I think nothing gives you more courage than the truth. It is a very tricky thing because it is easy to be afraid of the truth. But at the end, if you fight for the truth, that gives you an energy and the power that, you know — you can lose everything in your life. You can lose your husband, your wealth, your help, but you never lose your character. What these women have is incredible character”.
