Disney x Coach Brings “A Dark Fairytale” to Reality

It was a wild night out on the town for rebellious princesses and dwarves alike at the promo shoot of Disney x Coach’s “Dark Fairytale”, the duo’s latest capsule collaboration. Models are dressed head-to-toe in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty color palettes-but not the bright pastels that you might typically imagine.

Instead of airy pink and blue, and popping yellows and reds of the classic Disney films, the new Coach collection features the black of the poisoned apple, the midnight blue of the creeping eyes that follow Snow White in the forest, the army green of the huntsman, and the royal purple of the Evil Queen’s iconic cloak.

Coach’s website describes the capsule as “a special-edition collection where the road to
Happily Ever After takes a turn and shadows steal the spotlight.” Shadows certainly lurk everywhere in these quirky yet ominous designs. It’s a look for the grungy teenage girl or guy with some punk rock spirit in them. It’s a way for fans of the classic Disney films to reminisce of their childhood in a style that’s catered for both young and old generations. You could definitely see Hot Topic or BoxLunch selling some of these pieces.

Luxury and playful youth combine in this collab. The collection includes stickers and keychains donning the seven dwarves’ names, satchels and crossbodies featuring patches of iconic images from Disney’s Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, and jackets and sweatshirts of similar designs.

Whether you’re Bashful, Sleepy, Dopey, or Doc, you can flair your inner dwarf through these customized keychains or crossbodies. If you don’t mind having your current state of mood on display across your torso, that is.

When you open their signature crossbodies, there’s even a surprise waiting for you on the inside flap: an embroidered rendition of the capsule’s description in multicolor.

“A Dark Fairytale” is for the princes, too; the menswear collection includes hoodies, jackets, t-shirts, and wallets with the same retro skull patches and grungy, rock-n-roll color schemes. The nostalgic and youthful feel of most of the accessories and clothing can definitely be rocked by both genders.
