It’s been confirmed that Drew’ Barrymore’s half-sister, Jessica Barrymore, was found dead Tuesday, July 29, in National City, California. There has not been an official statement on the cause of her death; however, her brother speculates that it may have been from a drug overdose.
Jessica’s body was found in a car parked in front of the home of a woman who was trying to leave for work, KGTV ABC10 San Diego reported. According to People, she was found reclined in her seat and was unresponsive. There was also an energy drink between her thighs and white pills scattered in the passenger seat.
Drew Barrymore stated to People, “Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible, and I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss.”
Jessica Barrymore would have turned 48 on July 31.
