Diane von Furstenberg has always been one to celebrate independent women who themselves “celebrate freedom and confidence.” Having recently celebrated forty years in the fashion industry, her next project is to take the small screen. This is not another ‘Project Runway’ or ‘America’s Next Top Model’ deal. The show will not follow the designer, having viewers watch her go through mundane tasks throughout the day. Instead, her new television series set to air on E! The DVF Project, will give girls the opportunity to compete for a spot as a global brand ambassador.
The competition will span over the course of a few weeks. Contestants will assist at every DVF including fashion week in New York. Contestants will be handling celebrities, working on ad campaigns, and helping to produce many of the charity events DVF works on. However, it’s not all work and no play, as the contestants will get the chance to go out with Diane von Furstenberg while in New York. According to fashionista.com, the show is looking for “smart and driven” fashionistas who appear to be between the ages of 20-25, and are interested in learning the ins and outs of the fashion industry from one of fashions icons. The airdate has yet to be determined, but is expected to air on E! at the end of this year.
