Saturday’s Eckhaus Latta show, per Vogue, showcased redesigned boots and mules influenced by the original Ugg boots. All shoes had a square toe as Mike Eckhaus prefers. The mules had upturned tongues.
Ugg is a southern California company. Likewise, Zoe Latta is from California and places importance on eco-conscious products, re-purposing materials and utilizing deadstock. Ugg consciously makes use of remains from the meat industry. The two companies have more in common than one would think.
Outerwear was part of the collaboration as well. There was a gray and pink coat in addition to a vest made with curly sheepskin and colored yellow. The footwear, when worn, are as comfortable as Ugg boots with fur and soft bottoms.
Footwear ranges from $295 to $525. Outerwear prices start at $295. The collection is available for buyers in September.
