There are so many natural exfoliators, that you can probably lose count. Who knew? As previously discussed, there is a sugar scrub you can make at home to exfoliate and moisturize your skin, and then there’s the avocado scrub that helps provide your skin with vitamins and nutrients to keep it looking youthful and healthy. Other helpful, organic ingredients to give your skin include oatmeal and olive oil! Oatmeal is a natural skin exfoliant because it is rough and grainy, so it helps remove dead cells off of your face. Since it is dry, it also absorbs oils and dirts from the skin. Olive oil which helps protect your skin from harsh environmental pollutants, is particularly rich in vitamin E, keeping your skin moisturized, helping regenerate skin cells, dulls stretch mark visibility, and removes wrinkles (along with many other benefits to your skin!). Here’s another homemade facial exfoliator that you can make at home.
You will need:
1 tablespoon of whole milk
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of oatmeal
Mix together all of the liquids in a bowl, and then add in the oatmeal to the mix. Leave them in the bowl until the oatmeal becomes soft (takes no longer than 10 minutes). Then, begin rubbing the paste onto a cleaned face, massaging and leaving it on for 2 minutes. Then simply wash the paste off with warm water, and lightly pat your face with a towel after.
