The genetics were tallied and the results are in, the runway is proving that modeling is a hand-me-down business.
And while it’s no surprise that Cindy Crawford and Yolanda Hadid’s genes have produced model offspring Presley, Kaia, Gigi and Bella, it does bring to light the sheer number of catwalking clans.
The Crawford & Gerber Clan: Cindy Crawford is probably one of the most highly acclaimed supermodels of all time. Just after winning ‘Look of the Year’ in a contest held by Elite Model Agency in 1982, Crawford’s five-foot-nine frame was featured on the cover of Vogue. Her 30 years in the business rendered her Forbes’ Highest Paid Model in 1995. 17-year-old son, Presley Walker, made his runway debut for Moschino’s Resort show in June (also alongside Anwar Hadid).
Younger sister, Kaia Gerber, posed for Mario Testino with mama Crawford on Vogue Paris April issue, striking an uncanny resemblance to her modeling mother. Most recently, Kaia was photographed by model, Kendall Jenner, for LOVE magazine.
Speaking of the Jenners: While Kris Jenner never formally made a modeling debut, she might as well run her own modeling agency after producing the likes of Kendall, Kylie, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe. 14-year-old Kendall signed with Wilhelmina Models and has graced the runways for Chanel, Fendi, Versace and Dior. She loaned her face for Marc Jacobs new fall ad campaign, while also rocking the Victoria’s Secret runway alongside BFF model, Gigi.
While little sis, Kylie, has moved her interests fully into her cosmetic campaigns, the younger Jenner has walked for Kanye West’s Yeezy runway shows, while also modeling for her Kendall + Kylie clothing line.
The Hadids: Yolanda Hadid signed with Ford models when she was 16-years-old. Her firstborn arrived 15 years later and at the age of 16, daughter Gigi signed with IMG Models. Following in both her mother and older sister’s high-heeled footsteps, Bella signed with IMG Models just three years later.
Both sisters have walked for fashion’s most esteemed designers. Most recently, Bella closed the show for Fendi’s Haute Couture Collection in Rome, while winning Model of the Year at Daily Front Row’s Fashion Los Angeles Awards in March. Gigi has most recently collaborated on a capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger, Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger, while also hosting iHeartRadio’s Much Music Awards in Toronto. The Beckhams: We know David Beckham’s underwear modeling images stand the tests of time. Just as his wife’s body does the same. Victoria Beckham and former Posh Spice girl band singer is also a former model after making her debut at London Fashion Week in 2000 for Maria Grachvogel. In 2006, Victoria walked for Roberto Cavalli in Milan Fashion Week, before launching her own fashion label Victoria by Victoria Beckham in 2011.
Now 17-year-old Brooklyn Beckham made his modeling debut as the face of Polish brand Reserve at the ripe age of 15. After signing a modeling contract with a top agency the year after, Brooklyn continues to be featured on various high fashion mags, while also delving into fashion photography. Just recently, Brooklyn shot Burberry’s ‘This is Brit’ fragrance in London.
Younger bro, Romeo, has also landed major modeling roles for Burberry’s campaigns.
The Lyon & Aldridge Family: Laura Lyons was a former Playboy model, acting as Playmate of the Month for the February 1976 issue. You’ve seen daughter, Lily Aldridge, walk the runway as Victoria’s Secret Angel. Lily was also featured as a rookie alongside Chrissy Teigen and Nina Agdal for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue as the magazine celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Younger sister, Ruby, has walked in over 200 fashion shows for major fashion moguls like Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Diane von Fürstenberg, Elie Saab and Valentino. The model has also been the face of Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein and Coach.
The Hills: This rising modeling family has been deemed by Vogue as the one’s to watch. As Victoria’s Secret Angel and Topshop’s new face, Taylor Hill has risen to runway stardom following her discovery by Jim Jordan in her home state of Colorado. Her little siblings, Chase and Mackinley have just entered the family business, as both just signed with older sis’ modeling agency, IMG Models.

While we would never suggest these kids’ stardom is solely based upon their genetically gifted parents, we would suggest thanking mom and dad once and a while for the print-worthy pout and photogenic figure.
