Food stresses: Turning Your Daily Stress to Manageable Mounds

Weather you’re just entering your twenties, are in high school, or sailing through your 60’s, life is a roller coaster ride and a stressful one at that. As we get older life gets more and more complex. Simultaneously, the juggling act can get more and more burdensome. Balancing, a home, a career, a bank account, a diet, a relationship, your sanity… are all part of this roller coaster ride.

Understanding the basis of a good coping mechanisms may not be enough to work yourself into a health kick; but understanding the psychology behind bad habits could turn the idea of your daily stress to manageable mounds. The way you eat and what you eat directly affects your digestion, nervous system and sleep cycle.

“Physiology Today,” reports that love and feeding are actually interlinked from as early as birth. Ever given a toddler something sugary and looked into theirs eyes? That’s “Just 100 percent pure love.” When eating sugary treats, chocolate or candy, the brain releases chemicals that spike dopa-mine levels, making one very small mammals or an emotionally stressed adult feels oh so good…. At least for a little while.

Unfortunately, in today’s hectic world the norm has become to gobble food on your way to work, play or even sleep! Never giving enough time for the body to digest properly. Never having enough time to sit and literally digest creates added stress on the body. Shocking the body as well as the stomach.

So next time you’re enjoying your daily commute, brushing your hair, or getting your nails done, maybe you can take a peek at these tips on avoiding stressful eating habits!
