One couple really likes Disney’s “Frozen,” enough so that it was involved in their engagement.
When Brian Davis, 23, proposed to girlfriend Michelle Sequin, 22, he was dressed as Prince Hans from the animated musical. Meanwhile, Sequin wore a costume of Princess Anna’s gown. Although the two characters do not end up together in the film, Brian is confident in their own happy ending.
Since “Frozen” is one of the couple’s all-time favorite movies, Brian reasoned that the characters would be good inspiration to draw upon for his proposal. Brian explained the importance of the movie to the couple, saying:
We saw Frozen on a date together and both fell in love with the film. It gave me the idea for the proposal…I wanted to create a perfect Disney scene, where a charming prince would woo his princess by riding up on his trusty steed and proposing in front of a castle…From the second day after I met her I knew I wanted to marry her.
Brian, who is a medical student in Denver, created an elaborate scene for the proposal to ensure that all went exceedingly well. He even spent over $300 for a custom version of Princess Anna’s dress and Prince Hans’s ensemble. Additionally, Brian rented a horse, ironically named Romeo, and searched relentlessly for a castle. He eventually had to settle for the Denver’s Castle Marne Inn as the location. Yet, luckily, the outfits came on time and Brian managed to keep the plan a secret from Michelle with the help of her mother.
Prior to the proposal, Brian convinced Michelle to meet him for dinner to celebrate their fourth anniversary at the Denver’s Castle Marne Inn. He dropped Michelle’s dress at her house and instructed her to wear it. Then, Brian rode horse Romeo to the Castle Marne Inn.
Brian presented Michelle with a white gold engagement ring and she said yes instantly. Michelle described the gesture:
The entire thing was a dream come true. Once I saw Brian down on his knee all of my nerves went away and became pure joy. I was quick to say yes to my very own Prince Charming…I can honestly say that I had no idea the proposal was coming but Brian has always been one to do crazy and romantic things.
On his fairytale proposal, Brian stated:
It was the best proposal I could have planned for and she is the best princess I could have asked to be mine forever….I know our love story’s ending will be so much more than happily ever after.
