It seems the 12-day long The Simpsons marathon is paying off for FXX. The cable channel, which is usually pretty low in ratings According to EW, the cable channel usually ranks around 49; however, The Simpsons has given the channel a lot more traffic and viewers.
From Aug. 21 to Sept. 1 the cable channel has had a huge rise in viewers from demographics 18-49 during prime time. FX CEO John Landgraf commented on this stating,
“This is happening at a time when many people are saying linear channels are dead and the only growth out there is in Netflix or streaming,” to The New York Times. “For this, 98 percent of the viewing was linear.”
If FXX managed to contend with the bigger channels maybe you should give that Simpsons marathon a look.
