Vintage is always beautiful and always on trend. There are reasons some pieces have stood the test of time, like the little black dress. Every woman needs a little black dress to bust out for any occasion. There are other vintage styles that are just as timeless, the problem is that it can be hard to find these pieces. Time and patience are essential when it comes to shopping for vintage clothing, the internet has made that process a lot easier.

There is always the good old fashioned way of looking for vintage clothes– thrift store shopping. Spending time in the thrift shop can be an entire day activity. Going from thrift shop to thrift shop can be a really fun day. You’ll see some of the worst in fashion that will make you laugh so hard you might get dirty looks from the other people there. Whatever, they don’t get it. However, you will find some hidden treasures in the thrift store. You won’t believe how cheap it is and will have to buy it almost immediately. Day well spent.

If you don’t have time to spend a whole day looking for the vintage clothes there is always the internet. Amazingly you can find a lot of great vintage shops on Etsy. Granted trying to find some of the best shops might be time consuming as well.

Vintage Salvation has clothes from the 60’s to the 80’s to choose from. Having variety is always nice. There are aspects of every era that can be found in some great pieces. The 80’s were very bright and had big patterns, which is very similar to the 60’s fashion. 70’s inspired is very trendy right now and you will find a lot of 70’s clothes in this shop. Best part is that the prices are not that crazy so the clothes are pretty affordable.

Bird on a Wire has some vintage clothes and accessories, as well as some cool indie inspired pieces from the 70’s and 90’s. Who would have thought the 90’s would be considered vintage? The clothes will make you look like you belong in Brooklyn with such great street style.

Love That Lingers has clothes from the 50’s to the 70’s. This touches all the bases of vintage clothing. If want more of an Audrey Hepburn look this a great place to shop; or maybe something a little more on the hippie side, both are available. This is great clothes for events like Lollapalooza or other festivals. Especially since these clothes might have actually seen Woodstock, which is ultra cool in itself.

Classic pieces will be in style forever. Having clothes from the past has its own little history and part of the adventure is you get to figure out what that history is. Maybe a woman wore that skirt on her first date with the guy who became her husband. Maybe those shorts were worn at Woodstock or went on some other crazy adventure. Hopefully, these shops have the looks you want.

I will be checking out all these websites because I love anything vintage and my mom is getting tired of me taking all her old clothes and accessories 😉
