Gigi Hadid seems to be the envy of every fashionista, with a street style that’s timeless and always on trend. So it’s no surprise to hear that her collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger looks just as effortless. Hadid told Vogue:
“Creatively speaking, it’s something I would wear all the time. I wanted it to be something that when people look at it, they know I was the one who designed it and that it’s something I would genuinely wear. I’m very happy about it.”
Gigi has worked with designer Tommy Hilfiger before, walking in his past three shows. She’s now considered ambassador for the brand, as her capsule collaboration embodies the brand’s new direction for its womenswear. Tommy Hilfiger seems to have enjoyed working with Gigi as much as she’s enjoyed working with him, stating
“It has been a true partnership—Gigi and I worked closely together on each and every element. She was completely engaged throughout the process and the results are a reflection of her passion and creativity.”
The collection gives off a cool, modern Americana vibe that is true to Hadid’s style, incorporating bomber jackets, high-waisted skinny jeans, and adorable print maxi dresses. As Gigi said,
“I think it was taking the iconic American feeling of Tommy Hilfiger and putting my own twist on it. We did really fun patches and added elements that we loved from our initial inspirations, but then we added our fresh twist. It’s still young and fun, still very Tommy, and very me!”
For now, preview photos have been released, but the full collection will have its runway debut at Tommy Hilfiger’s show at New York Fashion week in September.
