The rumors are true! The Gilmore Girls, past hit WB show, is getting revived on Netflix. The recent revival is going to be a four-part Netflix movie series and is expected to have a lot of the original cast back for the revival.
Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are shown on the recent Netflix trailer playing their past roles as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. The actresses commented that they pushed for the Gilmore revival project to wrap up the un-ended storylines from the last season of the show. It has been almost ten years since the last season of the Gilmore Girls aired on television.
The four-part movie is titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and is set to premiere during the next Thanksgiving holiday on November 25th, 2016. Each part is 90 minutes long and the parts outline the seasons throughout a year starting with winter, spring, summer and lastly fall.
Original showrunner, Amy Sherman-Palladino, was against having all four parts premiering on one day, but Netflix has kept its signature stream-all episode business maneuvers to keep their fans happy. Palladino was afraid of watchers ruining the ending of the movie series for the fans, but Netflix denied changing their streaming habits.
Lauren Graham commented that the revival was a longtime production and was happy with its turnout, saying that she became extremely emotional getting to play her character again during its production. The development, says Graham, started about two years ago and in another year, the production was in full swing.
There are still rumors that most of Alexis Bledel character’s past love interests are coming back to revive their previous roles in the Netflix movie series. Most of the details involving the set, costumes and storylines are being kept under wrap, though there are a lot of speculations. Some of the speculations are as outlandish as a wedding for one of the main characters to Lorelai Gilmore being pregnant. All anyone knows is that the Gilmore Girls revival is going to be full of laughs, drama and love.
