When news broke that Boy Meets World would be made into a sequel, Girl Meets World, at the hands of Disney Channel, fans were apprehensive about the idea. However, ratings proved that the series would fare well, and Disney Channel renewed for a second season.
According to Fox News, the series that premiered in June reached a total of 5.2 million viewers. The show is currently number one in the youth demographics.
The show is much like Boy Meets World, but follows Corey Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s (Danielle Fischel) daughter, Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) discover the world. Corey is Riley and her best friends, Sabrinas teacher in school, where he (like Mr Feeney) teaches valuable life lessons to his students.
Girl Meets World has quickly become a favorite of both the kids who grew up watching Corey Matthews disobey and question the teachings of Mr Feeney and his parents, with his best friend Sean, and fall in love with Topanga. It is also a favorite with the kids who enjoy watching other shows on Disney Channel.
The show airs Fridays at 8:30 P.M. on the Disney Channel.
Filming for season 2 episodes will begin in November, and will air sometime next year.
