In another ‘almost unbelievable’ twist last season, Meredith discovers she has a half-sister, who is a doctor and finds a job in Gray’s Memorial Hospital.
“Maggie” played; by Kelly McCreary is the result of an affair between Ellis and Richard Webber. Ultimately, the child was given up for adoption.
Another change in Gray’s this season is the recast of Meredith’s mother “Ellis”, from Sarah Paulson to actress Sally Pressman, from Army Wives.
