Kelly. Forest. Jade. No, I’m not typing random names, I’m naming just a few of the myriad shades of green in this world. Unfortunately, the multitude of possibilities that the color green can bring to any woman’s wardrobe seem to go unused… but why is that? There truly is a shade of green for every style—and, maybe even more important, skin tone; from the deep emerald shades for fairer-skinned ladies, to the bold pop of Kelly green that beautifully complements deeper skin tones. But, most women (especially urbanites) are scared of color—regardless of how nice it may look on them.
It is incredibly crucial to not suck yourself (and your closet) into a black/navy-hued hole over the next few months; no matter how brutal/ugly/depressing it looks outside, make a promise to yourself that you will still wear color (it really does improve your mood). Green is the perfect shade to start with, as (as previously stated) there is a shade for everyone. Here is just a sample of the awesome green pieces floating around the Internet this season—so take a look.
Blank NYC Green Jacket: This jacket is ideal for the woman who can never stop wearing black (or sometimes charcoal). Though it could pass off as black from a distance, there’s enough of a contrast to pair it with an all-black outfit without looking like you got dressed in the dark (hey, it happens… no judgment).

Topshop Necktie Shirtdress: The army green color of this androgynous shift dress is always a huge color trend for fall—though, army green is just one of those colors that never really does go out of style. So you’ll easily be able to wear it for the many fall seasons of the future (this is what I like to consider “investment spending,” it makes me feel better).

Modcloth Picture-Perfect Afternoon Sweater: I am not going to sugarcoat this: this deep bluish-green knit sweater is absolutely stunning. Imagine how amazing it would look with light gray jeans, or black leather pants?! If you don’t get this soon, then I definitely will.

Sold Collection Leather-Trimmed Pants: These dark green, drawstring pants are the essence of army athleisure-wear—you look chic, and you feel comfy. Now what better excuse is there to buy a new pair of pants? Unless they come with Ryan Gosling in them, I’d say nothing.

Opening Ceremony Margot Boots: The chunky stacked heel and simple, silver accents on these boots make them just as essential as your black Chelsea boots (I know you have a pair, don’t lie). But how many people can you name with green boots as awesome as these? Didn’t think so.

Urban Outfitters Cooperative Structured Mini Crossbody Bag: This dinky, structured crossbody is just too. Darn. Cute. Imagine running around in a trench coat and ballet flats with this bag by your side. Now that’s vintage glam.
