At Saturday’s LACMA Art + Film Gala (this year honoring writer/director Quentin Tarantino and phrase-friendly artist Barbara Kruger) in Los Angeles, A-listers such as Cara Delevingne and Kim Kardashian-West traded their Halloween costumes for couture gowns.
One couturier that stole the show with five celebrity appearances was Italian label Gucci. Gucci outfitted actress Amy Adams and singer Jennifer Lopez in low-cut, midnight navy gowns (J.Lo’s had an allover sparkle while Adams’ featured an embellished waist and trim around the torso) that evoked enough sensuality without being overtly revealing for the occasion.
Selena Gomez, also in a low-cut Gucci creation, shined in a shimmering silver gown—complete with jeweled shoulder details. Opting for a long-sleeved aesthetic was Toni Garrn, current model girlfriend of Leonardo DiCaprio. The fairly minimal design, a long-sleeved white dress with a silver keyhole feature highlight Garrn’s collarbone, was complete with a sleek ponytail and the faintest hint of silvery eyeshadow.
Bringing fiancée (and Muse frontman) Matthew Bellamy along for the ride was actress Kate Hudson. Decked out in a blush pink Gucci frock (quite dissimilar compared to her “biker babe” Halloween costume she rocked with mom Goldie Hawn), Hudson’s one-shoulder, chiffon look was the picture of elegance—especially when capped off with her magenta pink lip.
Did all of these Gucci gowns make the cut on your best-dressed list? Or did one in particular stand out in this sea of designer dresses?
