Hayley Williams Supports Ex-Drummer’s New HalfNoise

Remember back in 2010, when brothers Josh and Zac Farro left Paramore in pursuit of a different direction? Well, if you’ve heard the new Paramore album, or any of the songs from it, you’ll know that the current members of the band will never forget it! Songs like Ain’t It Fun, Grow Up, Driving Fast in My Car, Interlude: Moving On, Part II, and Interlude: I’m Not Angry Anymore, just to name a few off of the 17+ album track (more tracks were released in other countries), are blatantly angry tell-offs and bashings towards to the ex-members.

However, on May 26th of this year, ex-drummer Zac Farro released a new music video for his new project, which he calls HalfNoise. The single, entitled Mountain, includes the drummer singing front, as well as tons of aerial shots of New Zealand. In the Youtube description of the video, Farro writes “As many of you may know, I am usually a drummer. But a few years ago I decided to see what writing and recording my own music would be like, HalfNoise. I made an EP in my house with a producer (Daniel James)” he continues, “it wasn’t until I played a few shows in New Zealand and spent a few months there that I really realized my passion.”

“In August of 2013, I went back to New Zealand and spent 7 months writing and recording the new HalfNoise album with my friend (producer) Daniel James. I wanted to experience life somewhere other than Nashville, Tenn and wanted to know how my writing would change being in such an amazing and beautiful place. I knew the trip would be exciting, but didn’t know it would be as life changing for me as it was.”

Finally, Farro writes, “The Album is called ‘Volcano Crowe’ because we recorded the album at the bottom of a volcano and my friend Rowan Crowe was the reason I visited New Zealand in the first place. Mountain is the first song I completed there, So I thought it would be fitting to share first.”

We’re happy for Zac, but apparently not as happy as Hayley Williams is! In fact, the ex-bandmate was so happy for Farro, she co-signed the new track!

Confused? So are we! But for now, let’s just enjoy the new-found comradery between the ex-band members, and enjoy the new music headed our way! Watch HalfNoise’s new single Mountain below, and look out for the EP Volcano Crowe, due for release October 1st!
