Sometimes we can all be a little too serious with fashion. All of the dark colors, painful print deficiencies, and general blah-ness (while completely typical, especially in a city like New York) wreak havoc on not just our wardrobe, but our mood too. Admit it, how amazing do you feel when you’re wearing a bold, look-at-me color, versus (oh, I don’t know) the same black/navy/brown/gray sweater. Though, don’t get me wrong, “plain” basics and staples are consistently chic and easy to style (especially when there is no time to rake a comb through your hair, let alone decide on what you’re wearing for the day), a bold, unconventional pair of shoes (like the ones you’ll find from Jeffrey Campbell) puts a little bit more fun (and, dare I say, pep) in your step. Plus, with Jeffrey Campbell, there’s a style (or twelve) out there just right for you.
Take the Don’t Trip Suede Heel. These shoes, unlike other black stilettos you may already own, literally say what you’re always thinking when you wear heels (at least, when I always wear heels): DON’T TRIP. If you don’t think that’s hysterical, then you need a pair of Crocs *shivers*.
Or what about the insanely awesome (and quite Carrie Bradshaw-like, actually) Dulce Faux Fur Pumps? They’re MADE OF FUR—how cool is that? Super cool, my friends. Super cool.
Vaguely reminiscent of a stained glass Church window (or, you know, Beyoncé’s bodysuit at the VMA’s this year—amazing) is the Sarlo Suede Sneaker. Every inch of these shoes is bedecked in brilliantly colored jewels and gemstones of all shapes and shades. Plus, did I mention that they’re sneakers? Always great.
For the pearl-loving old lady in all of us (don’t deny it, you know you’re an old soul), there’s the Gaby Leather Flat. These pointed-toe, t-strap flats are completely trimmed in pearls. Case in point, you don’t have to be a ballerina to dress like one.
If those flats are too tame for you, then why not make a statement with Jeffrey Campbell’s Boone Bootie in Silver Snake. The print is epic in every sense of the word, and the silver, very architectural, very modern heel is crazy cool (or maybe just crazy?). Definitely not for the faint of heart.
