Ex-Disney star Hilary Duff is back in her natural acting habitat. Trending on twitter was “#LizzieMcGuire” after recent announcement of her role on the new comedy series Younger.
Created by Darren Starr, best known for his involvement in Sex in the City, the new comedy show Younger plans to premiere in the fall on TV Land, with Duff starring as the lead role character Kelsey. Duff hasn’t been cast in any steady television roles since the ending of Lizzie McGuire, which ended ten years ago.
Since the Disney show, Duff has become more than just an actress, she has also evolved into a recording artist. She has recorded four albums including a Christmas edition, featuring her own sister Haylie Duff and other artist like Lil Romeo. She is the face of many endorsements and is also a philanthropist for natural disasters, child welfare and the Think before You Speak Campaign.
Besides being in the public eye, the beloved teen sensation grew up into a woman before the eyes of her fans and became a mother. Honestly, having Duff hitting prime time television again is exciting. The best thing a teen actress could do is to grab back the attention of her old fans as she matures.
