Though we all know that military-inspired garb is a huge trend (olive green, khaki, and army-esque jackets are all big both on and off the runway), Swedish juggernaut retailer H&M has incited major criticism for the latest jumpsuit from its Autumn/Winter collection.

The $19.95 jumpsuit, which is army green with an elasticized waist, has recently been compared to the uniforms comparisons to the uniforms worn by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units—who are currently in the midst of battling the globally feared group ISIS.

However, the jumpsuit’s similarity has not been only positive or only negative; people all over social media are either voicing their opposition, or see it as support for the Kurdish at this pressing time.

Regardless, H&M has released a statement, saying: “We are truly sorry if we have offended anyone with this piece, this was of course never our intention… the jumpsuit in question is made in a light and comfortable material and is a part of a larger collection consisting of many garments in khaki green, which also is one of the trendiest colors this season.”

Do you think the jumpsuit is offensive, or do you see it as an empowering declaration of support?
