Linen Hall, which actually appears like a physical hole in a wall, is a hidden gem buried near Union Square in the East Village. The small restaurant proves time and time again to be a great place to stop in for dinner during the week or brunch on the weekend.

Between the to-die-for mac and cheese appetizer and the killer burgers – one of them is served on Texas toast – this place is a great, informal option. Not only is the food great, but the pricing is quite reasonable. Appetizers are priced from about $10 to $15 and entrees range from $13 to $25. The weekend brunch also features some classic options, such as their Eye-Berry Pancakes, doused with fresh fruit, and Eggs Benedict. Brunch items are priced from about $9 to about $15, which many feel is a reasonable deal.

The venue, which is dimly lit, also serves a huge array of beer, wine and cocktails for those of age, and has great Happy Hour deals almost every day of the week. Happy Hour starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and until closing time on Sunday.

The atmosphere within Linen Hall is great for small groups or a casual date night. Be sure to check out this great place if you’re ever in the area!
