Iconic Naturalistas in the Fashion World

Natural hair is something you don’t see often on the runway unless the designer is trying to present a certain aesthetic. There are, however, three iconic naturalistas that have swept through the fashion world with their fashionable looks accompanied by their beautiful, natural hair.

1. Solange Knowles

People know Solange for her  familial relation to Beyoncé. She is breaking out of that description as she is being recognized for her style. It’s hard to really classify what her style is because she switches it up. One day she’ll be mix-matching bright colors and prints, and another day she’ll be wearing Dolce & Gabbana. Her style ranges from high fashion to fun and carefree.

2. Julia Sarr-Jamois

You may or may not have heard of Julia Sarr-Jamois, who is most noted for her street-style wear. The half-French and half-Senegalese naturalista is a fashion editor for Wonderland Magazine. If you’re a follower of street-style wear, then you’ve most likely heard of or seen her. Her looks are simple, but she always manages to stand out, and her afro isn’t the only reason why she does. She makes classic items pop with bright prints and colors while still managing to keep her looks from being gaudy. Check out her style, and see why she is dubbed a guru of street-style wear.

3. Lupita Nyong’o

The breakout actress is known for her role as Patsy in the Steve McQueen-directed movie “12 Years a Slave” for which she won an Oscar. Since then, she’s also been known for her fashion, wearing custom-made Prada, Oscar De La Renta, Calvin Klein and Giambattista Valli. She was recently on the cover of the July 2014 issue of Vogue, showcasing her beauty, charm and grace.

Check out the style of these ladies who are naturalistas and fashionistas.
