Models are going off book…
And Marc Jacobs is outfitting them in the brand’s latest collaboration with IMG’s Made to Measure network. The partnership will produce the second season of the series ‘Off Book.’
WME | IMG launched their premiere digital fashion network last October, Made to Measure (M2M), which debuted exclusively on Apple TV. Its first season’s content included ‘Iconic,’ featuring fashion’s legends, with insider looks at House of Balenciaga and Marcello Mastroianni. ‘Visionaries’ was a docu-series celebrating the relationship between fashion and technology. The ‘Off Book’ series recorded models performing famous passages from music, film and literature.
The series selected fashion’s favorite models. Hailey Baldwin plants herself in a dark, smoky room as she replays a scene from the 1998 film, ‘Buffalo ‘66.’ The series brings to film the voices of fashion’s unheard but always seen. It combats the dim model stereotype, replacing it with a showcase of the seemingly statuesque figures and their performance abilities.
Mark Shapiro, the Chief Content Officer of WME | IMG, said in a statement, “There are so many incredible stories to tell in this industry, but premium video programming that’s authentic, modern, and thought-provoking is still difficult to find. We’re excited to use our unique access across WME | IMG to give everyone who loves fashion the opportunity to explore the industry from the inside out.”
Marc Jacobs will collaborate on that effort as the brand outfits the next lineup of models for the ‘Off Book’ series. WWD reports the second season will feature eight models over the course of ten episodes. The designer will dress the models in his pre-fall ready-to-wear line, which is currently sold in stores and online.
The models will read from Fran Lebowitz’s 1994 collection of comedic essays, “The Fran Lebowitz Reader,” which is now available at Bookmarc and marcjacobs.com.
The featured models of the series’ second season include Peyton Knight, Angel Rutledge, Issa Lish, Marjan Jonkman, Alek Wek, Molly Bair, Cat McNeil and Ajak Deng. The season two premiere of ‘Off Book’ is this Tuesday, airing two to three new episodes every week.
‘Off Book,’ along with M2M’s other original programming can be seen on your iPhone, iPads, Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV and X-Box.
