Instagram Now Lets You Share Photos Directly On Your Story

Instagram addicts, rejoice; for those of you as lazy as I am, or simply with too many eager shares and reposts to cram into one browsing session, the social media platform has provided a solution. Instagram now allows users to share a photo directly onto your story in its “share” feature.

Sharing a photo privately to your friends was easy enough. But what if you see something (like this seriously cool Crocs trend up there) that you want to instantly post on your story for all of your followers too see? Now, if you click on the Share button of any photo, you have the option to “Create a story with this post.” No more screen-shotting, finding the photo in your album, and re-posting, but just sharing with the click of a button. Simple as that.

There’s a few rules, of course, keeping in line with privacy policies: you can only share photos on public accounts to your story, and the original account’s name will be featured in a little tag at the bottom of the shared photo. It basically turns into a sticker for you to resize, crop, edit in however way you want before posting onto your own story. And if you don’t like the idea of someone sharing your photos, you can always disable the option from your own photos.

The update has already debuted on Android, with plans to launch on iOS next week.
