If the deals at the original Swedish brand’s chain retail weren’t quite cutting it for you, now H&M offers a new solution. The catch? You have to visit their homeland for the first 2 stores, set to open in June in Stockholm and Malmö. But hopefully, the retailer will expand their discount stores to the United States, or other countries in the future.
H&M’s goal in creating Afound, “where deals come true”, is to provide a “style and deal-hunting paradise”, according to WWD, for customers in hopes of boosting dynamic engagement and sales in their recessing market. To grab buyers’ attention again, the brand is reaching out to customers through social media and upgrading their experience to match the age of digital shopping.

The brand’s Instagram claims that the store will provide “up to 70% off carefully selected fashion brands”, promising that the store will not be a mere bargain hodgepodge of cheap goods, but a curated collection of discounted items from quality brands. It’s the ultimate shopping experience for the budget buyer who wants to dress like a fashion-conscious member of elite society. Like many of H&M’s own clothes, the store is sure to provide sophisticated luxury-lookalike pieces for an affordable price. High-end designers are certainly no stranger to the retailer, whose next collaboration is confirmed to be with Moschino.
The two stores are set to open in June 14th (Stockholm) and 16th (Malmö). Swedish shoppers, be prepared for bargain madness. And if you happen to be in the area over the summer, you should definitely check out H&M’s new customer engagement tactics by visiting one of the stores.
