Iris Van Herpen’s Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show was all about one key concept: texture. From classic fabrics like leather and rich velvet, to futuristic silicone designs, van Herpen’s collection was a self-professed ode to magnetism–entitled “Magnetic Motion.” Blue, black and white shades comprised the thirty-two looks. With everything from a crystalline, mushroom-shaped dress that brought the concept of “wearable art” to life, to three-dimensional woven textiles acted as cage-like tops.
Bring extra pizazz to the always-appropriate LBD with fun (but still chic) feathery appliques. It’s different and daring.
What would a stylish robot wear, you ask? Or, maybe, say by 2130, this Van Herpen number would be normal on the streets? We wouldn’t mind.
The detail on this outfit is worth a second look. But the breezy way the fabric moves is what’s most enchanting.
