Is Fast Food Becoming Wearable? McDonald’s Seem to Think So

Fashion designers spin out different and significant ideas and transform them into clothing lines that everybody can choose to like, dislike, or basically fall in love with. There are also a few exceptions along the line such as Lady Gaga’s iconic meat dress and Ellen DeGeneres’ swan dress she wore at the Emmy’s back in 2001.

Fashion is an individualistic process and allows people to overcome their insecurities and look confident and optimistic in the garments that they are wearing.

Because of this, I am not surprised to say that the McDonald’s Big Mac is being used as a fashion statement.

We call this new line of merchandise “fast food fashion” presented to us by McDonald’s. Inside the collection includes Big Mac phone cases, hats, bags, and t-shirts that are designed with a huge image of the Big Mac and the McDonald’s logo, in case anyone forgets where to find this majestic burger. You cannot exactly go wrong with a simple baseball cap or the classic white tee with a burger splattered in the middle of it.

I am sure in about ten years from now, we can all look back on these products and dub it ‘iconic’. People love fast food and they love fashion. It makes sense as to why this came out.

This does not happen to be the first time designers have launched a clothing line based on food. In 2014, Moschino was also inspired by McDonald’s and proceeded to create a high-end line complete with the popular french fry phone case. Couture has never looked as tasty as it did then and food has been gratefully desired ever since. With a more affordable trend, you can bet people will be into these burger motivated items.

It is especially beloved in places like Japan where you are able to purchase minimalistic products for around 35 dollars. The designers behind the line have partnered with a Japanese company called Rakuten, an e-commerce site where you can find the McDonald’s merch. The site allows shipment to every country, but for a limited time only. There are only about 300 items per each product and they are selling out fast.

Hopefully in the near future, specific candy will have a clothing brand for themselves. There are already shirts with sushi, pizza, and pretty much every food group on them found in every fast-fashion company, but when it is actually made by a fast food business, it makes it feel more authentic. It will not be long before Taco Bell produces taco clutches for day-to-day food lovers. Pair it with a margarita shirt and you will be good to go.

Critics will most likely have a say on this appetizing apparel, but you cannot deny, people are lovin’ it.

    not sure how i feel about mixing food with fashion but maybe someone out there enjoys it
