Do you ever just want to pamper yourself, but you don’t have the funding to go to the spa or have a friend to accompany you? The solution is simple- just go in the kitchen. Here are some recipes for spa- like, organic pampering that you can do from home.

Wash your face with honey. My favorite ingredient is honey because it never expires, and it leaves your skin feeling fresh and even gives a bit of a glow to it.

Honey can be used as a natural face wash. Mix a little bit of warm water with it before you apply it to your face. Massage into your skin in small round circles. Let it sit for a couple of minutes and then rinse with warm water. Switch it back to cold water and rinse again. This will close your newly polished pores, leaving it feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Deep condition your hair with coconut oil. This is beneficial if you color your hair often or use heat frequently.

Apply a small amount of coconut oil into your hair. A little goes a long way, so use sparingly. Start by massaging it into the scalp and then work your way down into the tips of your hair. Cover your hair with a cap and let it sit for a few hours. If you have the time, try sleeping with it in over night (The time is your preference really.). Rinse like a normal conditioner and then follow through with a leave-in-conditioner to leave it feeling soft and healthy.

Tip: you can either microwave the coconut oil until it turns into liquid (10 seconds or less) and place on your head, or you can blow-dry your hair on low heat and massage the coconut oil into your hair simultaneously for a serious deep conditioning treatment. Coconut oil in general is just good to have. You can literally do anything with it; moisturize your skin and hair, cook with it, or even use it as eye make up remover or deodorant!

Make an egg whites and lemon face mask. This simple mask helps tighten and brighten your face.

Whisk together some lemon juice (It is more effective if you use real lemons as opposed to store bought lemon juice.) and some egg whites until it the mixture is foamy. Apply a layer to your face and leave it on until it hardens. Rinse with warm water and then pat dry. Follow with a good moisturizer.

For a real spa-like experience, cut some thin slices of cucumber and place them over your eyes while you’re waiting for your mask to dry. Cucumber slices reduce under eye puffiness.

Tone your face with Apple Cider Vinegar. This particular vinegar is a natural facial toner.

Apply a small amount on a cotton ball and PAT onto your face gently. DO NOT rub in. It will burn and make your face sting. Also, don’t use too much because it is fairly potent.   Surprisingly, if you wash your face with honey afterwards, the sweetness in the honey counteracts the sharpness of the vinegar.

Moisturize with Olive Oil. Use sparingly because like coconut oil, it is very concentrated and you can break out if you use too much!

Exfoliate with a sugar or salt scrub. These scrubs are beneficial when you need a quick exfoliator.

Scrub gently onto your face in small circles and then rinse with warm water. Follow up by washing your face. Pat dry and apply moisturizer when done.

Sugar Scrub: Mix ¼ cup of white or brown sugar with a tablespoon of milk or enough until it is of mud consistency.

Salt Scrub: Mix ¼ cup of salt with a tablespoon of olive oil.

Exfoliate with Strawberries. Strawberries act as a good exfoliator and good teeth whitening treatment.
