James Taylor, the guitarist, singer and songwriter, has been the talk of the town since delivering hits like ‘Sweet Baby James’, ‘Carolina in my mind’, ‘You’ve got a friend’ and so many more.
Most of his hits released in the 1970’s, after which Taylor did not really rock the billboards or the award shows either. Because of his stint of brilliant music in the 70’s, the singer managed to bag five Grammy Awards and was later inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of fame as well.
As of now, the singer’s work has made him shine again. The singer even surpassed Taylor Swift on the billboard to be the number one this week. The 67 year-old singer’s self-titled album made it to the Billboard 200 in the year 1968.
But this time, his album called, “Before This World” has sold 96 thousand albums and 9 thousand songs. Also according to Nielsen Sound Scan, the songs were streamed 411 thousand times which means that it totalled 97 thousand units.
James Taylor said to his fans via social network that,
“I want to thank you. I didn’t dare hope that this album could actually debut on the charts at no.1. It’s a totally new experience for me and that’s saying something. I thank you all for your support, your enthusiasm and your interest. I really believe in ‘Before this world’ I think it’s an excellent album and it’s the best we can do. I have been celebrating all day long, all week long actually. But again, it’s all because of you and no one knows that better than me. So thank you.”
