If there’s one situation where outfit repeating is acceptable, it’s this one. On Wednesday night, J.Lo resurfaced her unforgettable 2000 Grammy Awards show look at her first ever free hometown concert at Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. The dress, which used to resemble a beach cover-up, with its neckline plunging far below her belly button and a sheer bottom, had been modified for the singer.

It’s actually mind-boggling how the tropical patterned number looks better on the 44-year-old version of Lopez, rather than the 30-year-old version. With the help of some giant gold safety pins and a belt, the singer rocked the sexy one-piece on stage. J.Lo just can’t seem to let go of the iconic look – for good reason — as she donned the palm-tree print dress in her music video for “I Luh Ya Papi” released this past March.
In the August 2013 issue of W Magazine, Lopez’s revealed that she had no idea what the big deal was behind the dress at the 2000 Grammy Awards. She recalls: “When I came onstage with David Duchovny, who was the biggest star in the world then, he said to the audience, ‘Nobody is looking at me.’ This loud sound started from the back of the room – it was kind of like a roar, over me in the dress. When I went to my seat, I said, ‘What’s the big deal?!’”
Despite the alleged turmoil, the star’s personal life, with the break-up of her 27-year-old dancer boyfriend, Casper Smart, J.Lo looks like she’s keeping it together quite nicely!
