Juicy Couture Teams Up With Steve Madden For Footwear

Two of fashion’s most classic, easy-to-wear designers have paired up to create a new line of footwear. The all-American brand Juicy Couture, the once reigning label for trendy tracksuits and girly sundresses has been experiencing steep drop-offs in past years. Hopefully, teaming up with the steady Steve Madden will launch the brand back into the game.

The collection will have two lines—a more affordable option, along with a higher end line priced from $80-$200.

The partnership has taken years to iron out. According to Style Blazer, Steve Madden first reached out to Juicy for a footwear line in 2000, but Juicy’s founders, Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy preferred a more expensive price point.

Yet it seems the two labels finally figured out a compromise. A Juicy Couture representation told Women’s Wear Daily,“We had multiple choices, but Steve Madden knows how to make fun shoes that are very on trend. They are not followers, but leaders in footwear. Juicy is the leader in fun product and Steve Madden knows how to hit that down the fairway.”

The line is set to be released in the spring of 2015 in all Juicy Couture shops, in select department stores, and online.
