Praise be to Yeezus. Kanye West is actually planning on cutting the cost of his Adidas sneakers?
In London yesterday, West told BBC Radio 1 that he wanted to collaborate with Adidas on a new line of sneakers, for just wait, only $30. And no, we didn’t overlook a zero as we’re sure you’re well aware of the current Yeezy retail price between $250 and $300 per pair.
Kanye tells BBC host, Annie Mac, “I’m going to Adidas, ‘Adidas, I know you’ve never made a shoe under $50, but we have to make a shoe that costs $30, and it’s going to be coolest shoe of all.’”
Perhaps this is all a part of Yeezus’ new deal with Adidas regarding “a Yeezy-branded entity creating footwear, apparel, and accessories for all genders across street and sport.” Through the addition of an affordable sneaker, we’re thinking West will be adding a few more streets to his clientele base.
West’s most recent release of the Yeezy Boost 750s in June sold out within ten seconds of their release on the Adidas Confirmed app, which allows users to reserve their pair of Yeezys a month in advance. Well, if the fan craze for high-end Yeezy fashion is any indication for Kanye’s future success, just imagine a pair of sneakers affordable to all.
While Kanye still has to convince Adidas of the sale, you can satisfy your Yeezy thirst with Kanye’s recent release of the Yeezy Season 2 Oil Military Crepe Boot for men.
