Despite Kanye West’s poor etiquette during New York Fashion Week Summer/Spring 2016, when he placed his show in last minute offending others designers, as well as receiving bad reviews, Kanye’s clothing has been selling out! The high prices, such as $235 for a t-shirt, do not seem to be slowing sales.
Kanye’s Yeezy Season 1 collection has been selling out in retail stores. Fans have wasted no time acquiring one of Kanye’s pieces. The most popular item seems to be Kanye’s 950 boot, which retails for $585. It was the first to sell out at Barneys and at Wish, a streetwear store based in Atlanta.
Co-owner at Black Market USA, Keith Tran, said a line formed overnight at his Arlington store.
“By the time the doors opened in the morning, we had about 35 to 40 people in line with most waiting for over three hours. The first person waited 12 hours to shop the collection,” Keith said.
Kanye’s collection can be found at Wish, a streetwear boutique in Atlanta. Barneys stocked the collection at 16 of its locations. Mr Porter picked up some ready-to-wear pieces and Yeez 950 Boots in Black. Other retailers like MatchesFashin and The Factory and many other stores and e-retailers picked up pieces as well.
Yeezy’s Season 2 collection, although very successful, will not be carried by Adidas. Yet, many retailers would like to carry Kanye’s 2016 collection.
