“The truth is, shoes have to be wearable and functional… There are some women who wear 7-inch stilettos and run around. That’s not me. That’s not the collection. I want to feel comfortable and also very fashionable in my life,” Bosworth told WWD.

Bosworth designed each shoe to have a special meaning behind it. The blue, star-embellished ankle booties are a nod to her film Blue Crush and the Dallas Cowboys. They’re also named after her friend Charlotte Jones Anderson, whose family happens to own the team. The boots also come in a very on-trend rust color—especially since Pantone has announced the color marsala as the 2015 Color of the Year.

A pair of ivory ankle booties, printed with the words Hot Shot on the sides, is a tribute to artist Ed Ruscha’s Hot Shot lithograph, a favorite work of hers. Bosworth’s collection for Matisse will range from $300 to $500. “With Kate’s name attached and the aesthetic of the collection, which is definitely an offshoot of what we’re doing, there are more editorial pieces and there’s a richer feeling in general,” Sheena Parks, Marketing Director for Matisse, told WWD.

Are you as excited for Kate Bosworth’s Matisse collab as we are?
