“American Idol” winner, Kelly Clarkson, 32, gave birth to her first child this past Thurs., Jun. 12. with husband Brandon Blackstock, 38. The happy couple ecstatically welcomed their baby girl, naming her River Rose.

Clarkson announced her pregnancy via Twitter back in Nov. 2013. The starlet wrote, “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever.” A month earlier, Clarkson had expressed to US magazine that she wanted to be a mom, this came shortly after her Tennessee wedding ceremony. Clarkson even revealed to the magazine, “My record label is freaking out because all I can talk about now are babies. We’re really excited and want to get our family started.”

Clarkson publicly announced the sex of her baby on Jan.20, tweeting, “We just found out we’re having a girl officially! I knew it! Only a girl could cause this much drama with all this vomiting ha!” Yet still, Clarkson made rare appearances throughout the course of her pregnancy. She did, however, report on her discomfort throughout the process, tweeting on Jun. 4, “Okay my baby girl needs to come on out ASAP. Mama is tired, swollen and miserable hahaha.”

On Sat. Jun. 14, Clarkson blissfully tweeted, “Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes! Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)”

Although this is Clarkson’s first child, Blackstock is already a father to Savannah, 11, and Seth, 7, both of whom are from a previous marriage. Clarkson expressed how close she feels with his children during a radio show interview with “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” in Oct. “I want two kids. Two more, that is. I’ve already got two!” The singer had exclaimed.
