Kenzo’s Resort 2015 Collection is a wonderfully simplistic, ultra-modern take on very traditional French style, with a Kenzo edge. The collection features a fairly clean palette of mostly whites, blues, and reds. The prints are various stripes, large dots, abstract, or all three at once. There is nothing flowery here, no glitter or billowing gowns. The looks are polished and have a nautical influence.
It may be that this collection is a little been-there-done-that. The prints are not especially new for Kenzo’s style, and while the nautical look is classic, it borders on a French stereotype. The most interesting part of the collection is undoubtedly the new sleeve, which features a rounded peasant top shape. The outfits that feature the sleeve inspire the most curiosity and excitement for wearing such an unusual look.
The collection is a take on American meets French, and it works, although the most wearable pieces could be considered a little too simple. Still, the vibe is chic and clean, with the charm of classic French style.
