Kristen Bell has, after 3 years, finally shared pictures of her wedding with Dax Shephard. The actress has been fairly open about her life with Shephard, but their wedding has been something she wished to remain private about…until now.
Bell’s wedding was surprisingly down to earth. The happy couple was married in a courthouse, a refreshing change to the over the top, large celebrity weddings that have been seen over the years. Kristen also chose to eschew the traditional white gown for her wedding day — she didn’t even wear a dress at all. Instead, the star opted for simple black pants and a classic black shirt with a silver statement necklace.
Overall, the wedding only cost $142. Of the event, Bell said, “We got married in a tiny room in the Beverly Hills courthouse…And it was still one of the best days of my life.”
Kristen and Dax were married in 2013, and since then, have had two daughters, Lincoln and Delta, and seem to be just as in love as they were on their wedding day. Kristen recently opened up about her husband’s past addiction, saying, “He’s a wonderful father…He knows the value of things. He was an addict for many, many years and he pulled himself out of it, and he’s been sober for 11, 12 years now.”
For the “Bad Moms” star, family is one of the most important things. She refuses to take acting jobs that will take her away from her family.
“I always think, if I’m on my deathbed, what am I gonna be thinking about? And it won’t be some random movie I participated in, or some TV show. It will be my family.”
Clearly, Kristen has her heart in the right place. Her strong relationship with her husband and children is inspiring. Dax and Kristen may not have had the traditional Cinderella style wedding, but it appears that they’ve found happily ever after.
