Lady Gaga has replaced Beyoncé in the upcoming Bradley Cooper movie after a stellar audition. Cooper’s next project is remaking A Star is born, a classic 1954 film that starred Judy Garland.
Gaga is set to star with Cooper in a modern revamp of the musical drama. Cooper was actively involved in the casting process and was present to see Gaga’s first audition for the lead role. Apparently, Bradley Cooper himself, flew out to meet Gaga and audition her himself. He claims that Gaga knocked her performance of the ballpark and personally taped her audition. From then on, he sent the tape to Warner Brother’s Studios to get the final approval.
During the development of the movie, Beyoncé was set to be Cooper’s co-star around November 2015. Although four months later, around March 2016, she backed out of the role, due to requesting an eight million dollar salary. Not only that, but she also wanted added perks within her salary package and Warner Brother’s refused. Warner Brother’s was shocked that she wanted such a high salary when the film’s total budget has added up to be only forty million dollars. A Star is Born film project has gone through many reboot delays when Clint Eastwood was originally hired to direct the film in 2011.
Lady Gaga has previously won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a limited series for starring in American Horror Story: Hotel and also won Emmy’s for her live performance video specials.
Beforehand, Gaga acted in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and Machete Kills. Beyoncé has starred in multiple films like Dream Girls, Obsessed and The Pink Panther. She still plans to rev up her film career since the last movie she starred in was 2013’s Epic. Beyoncé is currently on her 2016 Formation World Tour since the debut of her 2016 album Lemonade.
