M.A.C Cosmetics collaborated with Julia Petit, who is a South American lifestyle blogger, to create a new spring collection, which launched on Mar. 19, 2015. She decided to work with M.A.C to create products that would be versatile enough for anyone to use.
“I wanted to make a collection that works well in the different climates and with the many ethnicities we have in Brazil. Also, I wanted to create a set of products that could have their texture transformed,” according to Beauty High.
In the pursuit of creating a collection that offers versatility, Petit created products with a multifunctional edge, such as her lipsticks. According to Cosmopolitan UK she said that her “lipsticks can be worn in so many different ways –as an eye shadow, lipstick, blush –they’re versatile.”
Her 11-piece collection also consists of three eye shadow palettes that can be applied wet or dry, a long lasting black liner, a tinted lip gloss that’ll compliment any nude lip, lustre drops for radiant, glowing skin, translucent powder and a soft beige-rose powder blush.
A part from creating a multifunctional make up collection, Petit was also inspired by her childhood upbringing when creating the line. According to Cosmopolitan UK “products weren’t so plentiful” when she was younger. Growing up, Petit needed to be resourceful and she did that by using “kohl for everything,” she said.
