On Feb. 19, London Fashion Week featured highlights by Topshop Unique, Preen, and Mulberry, according to U.S. News.

Topshop Unique, reported U.S. News, stuck to a bohemian theme, crafting a carefree set of outfits and showing them in the London Tate Modern art gallery. Tight dresses with slits were paired in some cases with warm sweaters, sweatshirts, or fleeces. The show included some flashy pieces, like silver sequins and an oversize orange coat. Mini skirts and stripes rounded up the eclectic looks. There were also pieces like a cheerful yellow blazer over a floral top, a magenta cutout dress, and a two-tone oversize suit jacket.

Preen, meanwhile, evoked English history for its show. Justin Thornton, a Preen designer, said that the collection was celebrating women’s voices and history. He and Thea Bregazzi, another designer, credited the works of artists in a different field for some of their inspiration. Poetry, photography and art from different books all played a roll, with some of the notable influences being women like Carol Ann Duffy, Tracey Emin, and Christina Boom.

The fall and winter collection involved some unexpected combinations, such as a coat paired with a floral bra, and a flashy green matched to a suit in tweed. Models walked the runway on ballet pink shoes.

And Mulberry took a stroll through the past of its own with a collection recalling the era of aristocrats, according to U.S. News. Designer Johnny Coca leads the brand, which incorporated traditional English wealth and comfort into the looks. Coca said that the collection draws inspirations from things like wallpaper and hunting.

Checkered patterns and tweeds, capes reminiscent of blankets used for horses, and vintage fabrics all appeared in the show. Accessorizing were classic jewelry pieces like pearls and cameos. However, interspersed with the older styles were pops of color, such as brightly shaded knee socks.
