Mysterious 17 year-old pop beauty, Lorde (Ella O’Connor) is the next in a line of celebrities to collaborate with MAC cosmetics. Stars who have worked with the brand in the past include: Ricky Martin, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga. The singer embraces her natural beauty and encourages her fans to believe that flaws are ok. Just last month, she posted on her Twitter page two photos of herself: one was the real picture and the other was a photo-shopped version of the same picture. She told fans, “I find this curious…remember flaws are ok :)” The singer has a signature look- dark eyeliner pulled into a cat-eye look, dark lipstick, and dark nail polish. She keeps her makeup routine simple, sticking to a few key pieces to tie together her stage look. Pictures for the campaign were revealed on April 24th, and were shot by Charles Howells.
The campaign shows the singer in dark plum lipstick from the line, and reveals the name of the collection is named after her first album, Pure Heroine. The limited-edition collection will also be rather simple, including the two pieces fans will need to copy-cat the singer’s look: plum lipstick ($16) and black liquid eyeliner ($19.50). The line is expected to be released in MAC stores and online on June 5 2014.
