L’Oreal Chairman Tries on Makeup

L’Oreal company chairman applies make up with new app in order to show how well it works.

The app he used came out in May, and is called Makeup Genius.

To promote the efficiency of the app, Jean-Paul Agon, L’Oreal’s chairman, donned blush lipstick, and eye shadow through the app. He shows through how both men and women can make use of the app’s features.

In an interview with Paris, Agon said, “digital is going to boost the business of beauty. We think it’s going to change everything.”

When you download the app you are asked to take a scan of your face, and make an account with the app. From there you can pick and choose which products you want to try on.

The app, which is free to download, helps you in creating a list of products you enjoyed “trying on” and serves as a guide for the next time you’re shopping for makeup.

According to Bloomberg.com, “the technology is the result of almost two years of research by L’Oreal to find ways to stand out in the cosmetics market, which it estimates will swell as much as 4 percent to about $250 billion this year.”

Despite all of the apps that help shop for makeup, not many can say they are set up to tell you how the products look on you.
