Louis Vuitton Museum Has Set an Opening Date

The long awaited Louis Vuitton museum is set to open on October 26th, as announced by LVMH creative director. The museum is located on the outskirts of Paris spreading massively across the Jardin d’Acclimatation. It will house 11 galleries containing the corporate art collection of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. In addition, it will also play home to special commissioned exhibitions, as well as one-off performances and events in its capacious auditorium. “This is a small payback to the public, and to our employees,” Arnault told French television station TF1. WWD described the art that would be on display as “a pretty eclectic mix.” The first exhibition will focus on the development of the new space, which was designed by architect Frank Gehry, and will run until Jan 5. Jean-Paul Claverie, Arnault’s advisor and manager of LVMH’s philanthropic activities, said: “It will express the artistic, cultural and emotional values, as well as the art of living, promoted by Bernard Arnault and the LVMH group, but it is truly a charitable foundation, devoted to the public as a whole.”
