L’Wren Scott – Death of a fashion icon and a rock star personality

L’Wren Scott a fashion designer, celebrity herself and the girlfriend of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones for over ten years was found dead in her Chelsea apartment yesterday morning. She was found hanging from her door knob in what appears to be a suicide with no note. L’Wren’s assistant was the one who found her at around 10:02am according to the police. The assistant who according to reports received a text from L’Wren asking her come over and when she did, the body was discovered and 911 was called. A spokesman for Mick Jagger who was the longtime boyfriend stated that the singer was completely shocked and devastated by the news. Because of this unexpected and horrific news the Rolling Stones postponed the scheduled of their 14 ON FIRE tour by issuing this comment found on their official website. “The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry and disappointed to announce the postponement of the rest of their 14 ON FIRE tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of L’Wren Scott. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood wish to thank all of their fans for their support at this difficult time and hope that they will fully understand the reason for this announcement.” Scott who started out as a model transitioned into being a stylist for some of Hollywood’s A-List celebrities that included Julia Roberts, Madonna and was a favorite of both Oprah and Michelle Obama. She later went on to designing her own fashion brand which was reportedly having financial trouble with her company being in debt. Hollywood and the fashion industry has been in support of L’Wren Scott through tweets issued by the likes of Bo Derek, Olivia Munn, and Bianca Jagger the ex-wife of Mick Jagger. Also Marc Jacobs, and cosmetics queen Bobbi Brown issued their condolences over twitter. Like any celebrity and with any horrible experience and tragedy like this she will be truly missed and treasured forever by everyone. The video below shows her last year’s debut at London fashion week.
