The best way to make friends is by joining an after-school activity or club. This helps you meet people that have the same interests as you. Whether it’s cheerleading, choir, dance or the debate team, you will have a common hobby that you can use to connect with other people. If you happen to have that person in your class as well, now you have something to talk about.

Be hygienic

This is very important for making friends at school. No one wants to be around someone with body odor, bad breath, or smelly clothes. Brush your teeth, shower daily and keep clothes that you wear clean and wrinkle-free.

Be yourself

It is no use trying to be someone else because in the end it will only fail. If your personality type is sweet and quiet, be yourself and you will attract friends that love your personality. If you are loud and funny, you will attract other loud and funny friends. The key is to be yourself and remember not everyone is going to like you, but the ones that do are the only ones that matter.

Elective courses

Courses like physical education, band, and art are perfect ways to make new friends. As an added bonus these courses are prime for mingling and meeting new people. You can also have fun in these courses because they are not as intense as the classes where you just get lectured and have homework.

Take time

With everything you do patience is required. Do not expect to make friends the first day. Take time, be yourself and do the right things, and you will find yourself surrounded by friends in no time.
