Margot Robbie to Play Harley Quinn in Upcoming “Suicide Squad”

Hollywood first noticed Margot Robbie when she appeared as Naomi Lapaglia in the Wolf of Wall Street, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Since then the 20-year-old Australian native is hard at work. Currently, she is shooting a film titled “Tarzan” with Alexander Skarsgard, where she plays Jane Porter.

Reports have surfaced connecting the actress with the character Harley Quinn, the girlfriend of The Joker, in the upcoming film “Suicide Squad”. 30 Seconds to Mars singer, Jared Leto is also rumored to play a character in the much anticipated film. The growing cast will also feature, Will Smith and Tom Hardy. The film is set to release August 2016 and is a co-production of DC entertainment and Warner Bros.

“Harley Quinn is a relatively new addition to the Batman canon, having been introduced in the 1992 TV ‘toon Batman: The Animated Series. Her instant popularity won her a spot in the comic books, where we learned that she was an Arkham Asylum analyst who took on the Joker’s case, only to be immediately lulled into a submissive relationship with The Clown Prince of Crime,” reports Mashable.
