Marvel Releases First Female Thor in New Comic Series

There are big changes happening at Marvel. It was released through “The View” on Tuesday, July 17, that Thor is now a woman. Social Media exploded with the news, leaving some cheering and others stating that it’s “an abomination.”

This is not a mistake, nor is it temporary. Marvel editor, Wil Moss stated through a press release, “The inscription on Thor’s hammer reads ‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if HE be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.’ Well it’s time to update that inscription.”

He continued, “The new Thor continues Marvel’s proud tradition of strong female characters like Captain Marvel, Storm, Black Widow and more. And this new Thor isn’t a temporary female substitute – she’s now the one and only Thor, and she is worthy!”

Included with the press release was the official art for the new Thor. Now she will be joining the ranks of other female superheroes like Storm, Black Widow and so many more.
