A new perfume, Memo Kedu, is being released by the French Niche line Memo. This will be the first fragrance in the line Graines Vegabondes.
This perfume is inspired by Javanese Buddhist rituals. Memo’s perfumes are famous for being composed of only prime raw materials. Additionally, they are crafted to reflect Clara Monloy’s most adventurous experiences.
Kedu is referred to as the “garden of Java”, Indonesia. The prime ingredients used in this scent are mandarin, grapefruit, neroli, mate tea, white freesia, rose, pink peony, white musk and moss. A tantalizing combination.
Memo’s last perfume was “Italian Leather”, 2013. The appeal of Kedu tends to derive from the factors which have inspired it. Since the main ingredient is sesame, the inspiration is “seeds and their power of life”. This appeal is more extensively explained.
Its primary ingredient – sesame, the symbol of longevity in Asia – is a magic incantation in and of itself; we long to murmur “Open sesame” on discovering this fragrance. And as it happens, the perfumer’s fine expertise was required for this ingredient to reveal all of its secrets. It unfolds on contact with grapefruit, neroli, white musk and moss to form an enchanting spell.
Memo Kendu is signed by perfumer Aliénor Massenet. It will be available in 75 ml Eau de Parfum, for €160. Although Memo’s perfumes tend to be hit or miss, fans of the brand have high hopes for Memo Kedu.
